Julia Booth is a classically trained soprano (MMus) who performs regularly throughout New Zealand. Her love of performance is rivaled only by her passion for empowering people to demystify their voice.
An alumnus of the NZ Opera School, Julia was introduced to the Estill Voice System (EVS) through the work of the school’s senior lecturer Paul Farrington. Julia was fascinated by Jo Estill’s model and since pursued a pathway within EVS. While under the mentorship of Paul Farrington and Anne-Marie Speed, Julia qualified as a Estill Master Trainer (EMT),one of only two in New Zealand. She has worked as an EMT with Anne-Marie Speed in Canada, Finland, USA, Australia and New Zealand and offers online post-course support for those wanting to pursue further study within the Estill Model.
Julia works with performers and occupational voice users from across New Zealand. Outside of her private studio, Julia has been the voice lecturer at WINTEC (School of Media Arts) in Hamilton, NZ and at both the University of Canterbury (School of Music) and University of Waikato (School of Music) as well as voice coach for the Musical Theatre Academy at St Peter’s School in Cambridge, NZ.
